Genesis Infante is the newest Materials Scientist to join C-Therm’s team, working closely with the engineering team. On top of that, he is also Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Manager, a very important position within the company, specially during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Genesis has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Honours and a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick (UNB). We asked Genesis to share a little bit about himself and his first couple of weeks at C-Therm.
“I was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated with my family to New Brunswick in 2008. After graduating high-school in Edmundston in 2010, I came to Fredericton to pursue a science degree at UNB. I am now a recent graduate with a PhD degree in Chemistry, with focus on synthesis of small organic molecules.
I am very excited to join C-Therm and be a part of an amazing team. My first weeks have been busy, functional and fun – getting to know everybody’s role in the company helped me understand how I fit in C-Therm’s dynamic culture. Everybody’s been welcoming and friendly. I am also very excited to learn more about cutting edge thermal analysis techniques, the importance of thermal conductivity, and their impact on the materials of tomorrow.
In my free time I enjoy researching and growing gourmet mushrooms, spending time with my two dogs and my wife. We are also expecting our first child any day!”
