In-Line Quality Assurance of Sediment Detection using Thermal Effusivity Sensors

This webinar presents recent trial results from HELLA Forvia, employing C-Therm’s novel thermal sensors to monitor the consistency of filled thermal conductivity adhesives dispensed in production lines.

Over the course of this session, we’ll review the usage of 2K polymer adhesives in the automotive industry, with a focus on their applications in gluing, sealing, potting, and encapsulation. The discussion will highlight the important role these adhesives play in the thermal management of electronic components—particularly in response to ongoing trends in miniaturization and higher power density electronics in the automotive industry.

We will also address common challenges related to material spoilage in 2-part polymer adhesives, exploring causative factors such as sedimentation and leakage, and their impact on production efficiency and cost. In addition, the session introduces bdtronic’s advanced dispensing technology for 2K polymer adhesives, underscoring the importance of complete process control to maintain quality standards.

In this webinar, we will discuss the role of process analytical technology in maintaining adhesive quality, and followed by a summary of findings from C-Therm’s Trident MTPS sensor performing in situ measurements on live production lines at HELLA Forvia. The results will demonstrate the value of early error detection in minimizing the cost of poor quality.

This webinar aired on May 15, 2025 @ 10:00AM GMT-3.
