Two Australian researchers presenting work at NATAS with help from C-Therm’s travel bursary program

Two Australian researchers will be presenting their work at the 39th Annual Conference of North American Thermal Analysis Society (NATAS) with help from C-Therm's Travel Bursary Fund supporting research in areas of thermal conductivity characterizartion and application.


Award Recipient:  Ehsan Bafekrpour (Monash University)Ehsan Bafekrpour of Monash University will be presenting a paper titled "Transient Temperature Distribution in Functionally Graded Graphite/Polymer Nanocomposites Based on Temperature Dependent Properties"

Ehsan Bafekrpour obtained his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering at Mazandran University (Iran), and completed his MSc degree, also in Mechanical Engineering, at Tehran Polytechnic, studying the effects of micro-structural parameters on the mechanical properties of CNT/polymer nanocomposites. He is currently a PhD student at the Centre for Material and Fibre Innovation (CMFI) at Deakin University, Australia, working on fabrication, characterization and modelling of functionally graded nanocomposites.

Mark RomanoMark Romano of the University of Wollongong will be presenting a paper titled, "Novel Carbon Materials for Thermal Energy Harvesting"

After earning his undergraduate degree in BS Metallurgical Engineering, Mark Romano worked as a lecturer at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. He completed his master’s degree in MS Materials Science Engineering in 2008. He is currently doing his PhD at the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute, ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science, University of Wollongong, Australiafocusing on nanomaterials for thermal harvesting systems.
