Improper thermal management of electronic devices and components generally results in weaker product performance, a reduction in the product lifecycle and an overall negative experience for the user.

With increasing energy density, storage capacity, and cycling speed of battery systems, particularly for electric vehicle applications, reducing risk of thermal runaway in these systems has become a key safety concern. Even when the consequences of poor thermal management are not disastrous, it does accelerate battery material aging and result in shorter lifespan, reduced cycling efficiency, and lowered storage capacity of these battery systems.

Thermal conductivity of related parts and components is a critical performance attribute in the process and product design for these industries.

This webinar will highlight thermal conductivity techniques in testing Heat Sinks, Phase Change Materials (PCMs), Thermal Interface Materials (gap pads, thermal grease), and other innovative materials employed in such electronics and battery systems.
