Fredericton, N.B. – C-Therm Technologies is hosting a special virtual panel session this week in bringing together thought leaders from across the textile industry online in discussing best practices in developing test methods and performance standards.
The panelists include:
Diana Wyman: Executive Vice President of AATCC, a professional association and standards development organization for the global textile industry. A self-proclaimed textile nerd, Diana has been involved in all aspects of textile testing—from managing a contract lab to developing specifications for a retail brand. She participates in the standards development process as both staff and volunteer for AATCC as well as textile-related committees of ASTM, IEC, IPC, and ISO.
Haskell Beckham: Senior Director of Innovation at Columbia Sportswear Company. Dr. Beckham joined Columbia after 5 years at Exponent, a leading scientific and engineering consulting firm, and 20 years at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he taught courses in chemistry, textiles, and materials, and led a research program focused on the development and evaluation of polymers and textiles. He earned a B.S. in Textile Chemistry from Auburn University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT.
Nancy PeBenito: consultant based in Portland, Oregon. The majority of her career has been with apparel performance and fashion brands in quality, testing and standards management at companies such as Patagonia, Talbots, and Nike. Nancy provides technical expertise to a wide range of brands, from small start-ups to large, global companies. Her consultancy focuses on materials and products with an emphasis on standards, compliance and labeling.
The panel session is scheduled for Thursday January 21st at 02:00 PM Eastern Time. The session is free to attend and those interested can sign-up here. The panel will be moderated by C-Therm’s Managing Director, Adam Harris. Harris comments, “we’re super excited to have such brilliant folks as Diana, Haskell and Nancy share their expertise and insight on this topic. They are providing considerable thought leadership in the industry. Their combined experience and diverse perspectives in measuring performance is expected to produce some great insight and discussion. Pretty special to be able to have the opportunity to pick their brains for an hour.” The session is expected to delve into various topics around the development of international test methods and internally developed performance standards.
