Trident™ Application Highlight: Thermal Conductivity of Concrete Using the 60 mm TPS Sensor
This document highlights the use of the Transient Plane Source (TPS) method to characterize concrete thermal conductivity and demonstrates the advantages of the 60 mm sensor for heterogeneous samples

Thermal conductivity measurements were performed using the Trident Thermal Conductivity Instrument equipped with the 60 mm TPS sensor, in accordance with ISO 22007-2. A quick-crete concrete sample was tested at three distinct locations across the sample face at ambient room temperature to assess spatial consistency. Five measurements were taken per location. The 60 mm sensor was selected to maximize the assessed volume and improve the representativeness of each measurement relative to the bulk material.
