Sarah Ackermann MSc

Laboratory Services Manager

As the Laboratory Services Manager, Sarah leads the team at Thermal Analysis Labs with an eye to quality and good customer experience. Sarah has experience in the fields of gas sorption, materials science, and thermochemistry, with practical experience in pyrophorics chemistry, hydrogen storage and air-sensitive synthesis. She started with C-Therm in 2015 as a part-time contract lab researcher and has risen to manage the laboratory services team. Sarah is involved in international standardization of thermal analysis, calorimetry, and thermal conductivity test methods with ASTM and ISO and holds a Masters of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick. She’s also completed professional development courses from MDBI and LMI. Sarah’s goal is to help TAL clients solve their current research problems through high-quality data and good experimental design.

Meaghan Fielding BSc

Laboratory Technologist

Meaghan graduated from Alabama State University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering while playing NCAA division 1 soccer. She earned her degree in the honours program, while also acquiring summa cum laude honours. During her time at ASU, Meaghan worked in the BME laboratory where she focused on tissue engineering, which included the 3D printing of scaffolds to study BM-MSC proliferation. Meaghan also spent time at IR Scientific, a biomaterials company, where she performed quality control testing in support of the development of a patent. Meaghan joined Thermal Analysis Labs as a Laboratory Technologist, where she performs a variety of thermal tests for clients all around the world.

Michael Landry PhD

Thermal Scientist

Dr. Michael Landry has expertise in polymer and materials characterization and design. He graduated from McGill University in 2019 studying biomaterials for biomedical applications where he studied tuning materials properties for creating effective cell/tissue-material interfaces. During his studies, he studied various materials characterization techniques, including DSC/TGA in addition to mechanical characterization of polymers through DMA/tension/rheometry. He brings polymer characterization and general materials expertise to the TAL team with over 5 years of experience. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, hiking and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
