Effusivity as a useful tool in powder characterization
Join researchers from Long Island University's School of Pharmacy as they discuss their work in applying C-Therm's ESP system in powder characterization. Thermal effusivity is a powerful tool in determining powder characteristics and can be used as a potential PAT tool. In this presentation selected methodologies commonly used in pharmaceutical development and formulation are correlated with thermal effusivity measurements. Wet granulation, dry granules, compatibility between various powders will be the key points covered. End-point determination using various solvents and materials will be discussed and it’s relationship with effusivity. Compatibility amongst various hydrates and cohesive API’s will also be discussed. This overview will be helpful to pharmaceutical students, and scientists working in R&D and manufacturing.
