Thermal Conductivity Characterization of Cement-Aerogel Composites
Energy consumption continues to rise as a major concern worldwide. The heating and cooling requirements of buildings play a major role in energy use, and the investigation into innovative insulative building materials is one way researchers are attempting to alleviate this strain. Scientists from Soongsil University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, have developed and tested a cement composite that combines aerogel and cement paste, ultimately improving the thermal characteristics of the material. This webinar will highlight the application of C-Therm’s TCi Thermal Conductivity Analyzer in the characterization of such aerogel-cement composites.
The results demonstrated a reduction of 75% lower thermal conductivity compared to standard cement.
